Clogs Recycling Program

No matter how old and worn off your Clogs are, you can still join the Clogs Recycling Program. Clogs’ foray into recycling signifies a growing awareness within the footwear industry regarding its environmental impact. Their program aims to capture end-of-life Clogs shoes and divert them from landfills, giving the materials a second life. While specific operational details can evolve, the underlying principles offer valuable insights into how the Clogs recycling program can function.

Lend Us A Hand To Save The Environment!

In recent years, Clogs has expanded its take-back Clogs recycling program to be the pioneer of sustainable footwear companies. Reaching over 150 retail stores and online customers in the continental U.S., another reason is that we want as many people able to reach this program, which is a motive to love Clogs more and continue to wear them. ❤️‍🔥

“The growth of this program is an exciting continuation of our efforts to address the environmental and social challenges faced by the fashion industry and ultimately make a difference by keeping shoes on feet and out of landfills,” said Deanna Bratter, Vice President, Global Head of Sustainability, Crocs, Inc.

You are the core of this program, so lend us a hand to save the environment, shall you?

Clogs Recycling Program: Unpacking the Details

You will have two options to join this program: designated collection boxes at all Clogs retail stores and a no-cost mail-back service. Customers will have a chance to revive their Clogs in any condition: from well-loved to gently worn ones, we all have ways to recycle them.

There are so many wonderful reasons to recycle a pair of clogs, and every little bit helps! Maybe your kids are quickly outgrowing their shoes; perhaps you had a little mishap on the sidewalk and scuffed your sandals; maybe your beloved fleece-lined clogs have become a bit funky instead of fresh, or, worst of all, your dog decided they were a toy! No matter their condition, we’re here to take them. Plus, participants will receive a sweet 10% off** coupon as a small token of our appreciation and gratitude.

What’s next?

Later, we will retrieve the collection box from a reputable company that specializes in the circular economy. They will oversee the sorting based on the best path for reuse. Clog shoes in good condition will be sent directly to an organization called Soles4Souls’ 4Opportunity program, which collaborates with a global network of entrepreneurs in developing countries to launch and sustain small businesses that sell donated shoes and clothing. In contrast, those clogs that are too worn will be processed, sorted, and deconstructed into post-consumer recycled material streams with high reuse potential. Ultimately, the goal is to identify valuable uses for the recycled material, thus decreasing our dependence on virgin resources.

Is The Clogs Recycling Program Necessary?

They represent progress for environmental conservation. A recycling program is essential for building a circular economy in the footwear industry. This approach focuses on maximizing the use of resources for as long as possible, extracting their full value during use, and then recovering and regenerating products and materials at the end of their life cycle. By repurposing old clogs- either through direct material reuse or by transforming them into new products- recycling shifts away from a linear “take-make-dispose” model, promoting a more sustainable and resilient system.

By understanding and supporting initiatives like shoe recycling and by making conscious choices as consumers, we can all contribute to a more sustainable future for footwear.
